JUDGEMENT

(1.) ON oral prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, he is granted liberty to correct the description of respondent No. 1 in the array of parties during the course of the day.

(2.) HEARD counsel for the petitioners and the learned standing counsel on behalf of the respondents.

(3.) THE petitioners, who are working on the post of Head Warden are seeking promotion to the post of Deputy Jailor, as per the provisions of Uttar Pradesh Jail Executive Sub -ordinate (Non -Gazetted) Service Rules,? 1980, whereunder certain number of posts are reserved to be filled by promotion.
