JUDGEMENT

(1.) THIS criminal revision is directed against the judgment and order dated 22.3.2003, passed by the Additional Sessions Judge, Court No.17, Lucknow, whereby the appeal was dismissed but the sentence awarded to the revisionists was modified, as well as the order dated 16.1.2003, passed by the Judicial Magistrate -II, Lucknow, in Criminal Case No. 3687 of 1996, whereby the revisionists were found guilty under Sections 498 -A IPC and were sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment of one year along with fine of Rs. 500/ -.

(2.) HEARD Shri Tung Nath Tiwari, learned counsel for the revisionist and Shri Ahsan Zaidi, learned A.G.A. for the State of U.P.

(3.) DURING pendency of the revision, revisionist no.2, namely, Rudra Pratap Singh died and as such this criminal revision is being heard and disposed only in respect of revisionist no.1.
