(1.) HEARD Shri K. R. Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner and Shri R.B. Singhal, learned senior counsel assisted by Shri Ram Dular for the respondents.
(2.) THE petitioner is seeking a direction to the respondents to consider him for selection and for appointment in the Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB in short).

THE contention of the petitioner is that he had applied in pursuance of the advertisement issued by the Staff Selection Commission for the vacancies in the BSF, CISF, CRPF and SSB in 2011 for filling 49080 posts. The petitioner had applied in category 'A' which the category of BSF. In paragraph 9 of the writ petition, it is stated that the petitioner has secured 40 marks and he belongs to the S.C. category but the candidate who has secured only 33 marks in the SSB category has been sent for training. The category of BSF is 'A' and the category of SSB is 'D'. Reliance has been placed by the learned counsel for the petitioner upon a decision of this Court in W.P. No. 3283 of 2012 (Bindhyachal Kumar Singh Vs. Union of India and others). That was a case of a? person who had not exercised any option at all and the relief granted in that writ petition was confined only to the petitioner of that writ petition and the respondents were directed to treat the petitioner in the preference/option in respect of categories A, B, C and D for the purpose of select list and thereby consider whether amongst the general category candidate and the post for which the petitioner has applied he is entitled to be declared successful.
