JUDGEMENT

(1.) WITH the consent of learned Counsel for the parties, we heard the case finally at the admission stage.

(2.) THE instant Special Appeal is directed against the judgment and order dated 12.5.2014 whereby the writ petition no. 820 of 2014 (SS) preferred by the appellant has been dismissed. The said writ petition was filed challenging the order dated 14.2.212 whereby the claim of the appellant for appointment on compassionate grounds under Dying in Harness Rules 194 ( in short referred to as " Rule of 1974) has been rejected by the respondents.

(3.) A perusal of the record reveals that Ram Veer Singh, father of the appellant was serving the police Department as Sub Inspector of Police at the relevant time. On 13.3.20011, Ram Veer Singh died in harness. The appellant in paragraph 5 of the writ petition has himself averred that his father had earlier solemnized marriage with Smt. Vindeshwari Devi and during the existence of the said marriage, he married Smt. Munni Devi and from this wedlock, the appellant took birth. The son, born from the wedlock of Ram Veer Singh and first wife Vindeshwari Devi, namely, Gagan Pratap Singh is employed as Wireless Operator in Indian Army and daughter Smt. Ravis Kumari is living married life. The father of the appellant, namely, Ram Veer Singh died in harness on 13.3.2011.
