JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE petitioner Mamta Anand has questioned the order dated 31st of March, 2014 issued by the Secretary, U.P. Higher Education Service Commission, whereby her selection and appointment on the post of Lecturer in Sociology has been cancelled on the ground that the candidate was ineligible for being called to face the interview and selection.

(2.) THE reasons as disclosed in the impugned order, and supported by the original records that have been produced before us is, that the petitioner at the time of short -listing/screening was awarded an index of 23.6 marks which was much below the required index on the basis whereof the petitioner could not have been called for interview and selection.

(3.) IT has been found that the petitioner allegedly succeeded in getting interviewed on the basis of a revision of her screening index which was enhanced to 28.6 marks on the strength of an alleged certificate of her experience as a Research Assistant issued by one Professor A.K. Joshi of the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences of Banaras Hindu University, Banaras dated 27.3.2007.
