JUDGEMENT

(1.) HEARD learned counsel for the respective parties and perused the record.

(2.) PETITIONER 's father was an employee of the respondent -bank and was working as Special Assistant, he died in harness on 17.9.2000 while working with the Punjab National Bank Vikas Khand, Gomtinagar Lucknow leaving behind his wife and only son.

(3.) IT is contended that the petitioner's father was the only earning member and the petitioner, having the requisite qualification and eligibility, applied before the competent authority, on the prescribed proforma on 25.9.2001, for appointment under the compassionate appointment scheme of the Bank.
