JUDGEMENT

(1.) HEARD Shri S.K.Mehrotra, learned counsel for the petitioners and learned standing counsel for the respondents.

(2.) THIS writ petition arises out of proceedings for determination of surplus land under U.P. Imposition of Ceiling on Land Holdings Act. Dispute relates to plot no. 390 M area 1 bigha 19 biswa. It was recorded in the revenue record in the name of Raja Jagdambika Pratap Narayan Singh, Raja of Ayodhya, hence treating it to belong to him it was included in the notice under Section 10 (2) of the Ceiling Act issued to him.

(3.) ACCORDING to the petitioners in a civil suit for injunction being Original Suit No. 219 of 1978 a written compromise was entered into in between them and Maharaja Ayodhya and suit was decreed on the basis of compromise on 01.08.1979 holding that the land in dispute belonged to the petitioners nos. 1 to 7. Civil Suit was decided by Munsiff Hawali, Faizabad.
