Decided On March 23, 2004
SATYA NARAIN Appellant
V/S
Kusum Babu Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE present contempt petition, namely, Civil Misc. Contempt Petition No. 1037 of 1993 has been filed under section 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971. It is, inter alia, prayed that the opposite parties be punished for having committed contempt of this Court by flouting the order dated 14.3.1983 passed by this Court in Civil Misc. Writ Petition No. 160 of 1976 and the order dated 20.4.1993 passed by this Court in Civil Misc. Writ Petition No. 26283 of 1992. The present contempt petition was filed on 19.5.1993.

(2.) IT appears that in view of the said order dated 21.7.1993, the case was put -up before the Court alongwith the Office Report dated 28.8.1993. However, no order appears to have been passed by the Court.

(3.) A perusal of the various orders passed on the record of the present contempt petition, namely, Civil Misc. Contempt Petition No. 1037 of 1993, as mentioned above, shows that no order has so far been passed directing for issuance of notices to the opposite parties on the contempt petition. In the circumstances, I am of the opinion that no useful purpose will be served by directing for issuance of notices to the opposite parties now after a lapse of about 11 years since the filing of the contempt petition in May, 1993.
