JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard Sri R.B.Tiwari, learned counsel for petitioner, Sri Manjit Shukla, learned Standing Counsel and perused the record.

(2.) By means of the present writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for direction to promote the petitioner from Class-IV category to Class-III category in the Public Works Department, State of U.P.

(3.) Shri R.B.Tiwari, learned counsel for petitioner in order to press the abovesaid relief submits that the petitioner was initially appointed on the post of Waterman in the Public Works Department (hereinafter referred to as P.W.D.), thereafter seniority list in respect of persons working in the P.W.D. Department was issued by the Executive Engineer, Construction Division-2, P.W.D. Pratapgarh in which the name of the petitioner finds place at serial no.2.
