(1.) BRIEFLY stated the facts are that complainants are residents of Chandigarh and they had purchased return air tickets of M/s Emirates -OP No. 1 from its agent M/s American Express Bank Ltd, Platinum Card Services, - OP No. 2 at Chandigarh by credit card and thus, the cause of action had arisen substantially at Chandigarh.
(2.) IT was next averred that complainant No. 1 is a senior advocate practising at the bar of Punjab and Haryana High court, Chandigarh and former Advocate General for the States of Punjab and Haryana and complainant No. 2 is an active social worker involved in voluntary blood donation movement in Chandigarh. They are frequent international travellers. They were invited to participate in an international meeting of the Intercontinental Grouping of Accountants and Lawyers (IGAL) in Cape Town, South Africa. Copy of the invitation letter is annexure C -1.
(3.) IT was further averred that they had purchased Ist class return air tickets from OP No. 1 through OP No. 2 who was its agent. Copies of the electronic ticket confirmation e.mail dated 19.6.2006 bearing reservation No. Q3NXKQ are annexures C -2 and C -3. The said tickets pertained only to the portion of travel on the airline of OP No. 1 while the sector Johannesburg -Cape Town - Johannesburg was on another airline.
