JUDGEMENT

(1.) Inasmuch as both the criminal appeals at hand arise from one judgment, viz., judgment dtd. 27/2/2017 passed by the II Additional District and Sessions Judge in S.C. No. 267 of 2015, they are considered and decided by this common judgment.

(3.) Inquest was conducted by the police and the inquest report was marked as Ex.P.25. The body of Kaliyamurthy was sent to the Government Hospital, Kumbakonam for postmortem, where, Dr. A. Ravichandaran (PW17) performed autopsy and in his evidence as well in the postmortem certificate (Ex.P.21), he has stated as follows:
