JUDGEMENT

(1.) This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to accord permission for conducting village cultural programs by using sound systems and give adequate Police Protection for the Vaigasi Visagam festival of Sree Malai Muthumariamman Temple at Pinnavasal Peravoorani Taluk, Thanjavur District to be held between 24/5/2019 and 27/5/2019 at about 10.00 P.M. to 12.00 A.M. based on the Petitioner's representation dtd. 6/5/2019.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents.

(3.) The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the Villagers have conducted cultural programme for the temple festival every year peacefully. As per the tradition and customs, this year also the Villagers have planned to conduct cultural programme on 24/5/2019 and 27/5/2019. In this regard, the petitioner gave a representation to the respondents on 6/5/2019. Since No. action has been taken, the present writ petition has been filed.
