JUDGEMENT

(1.) This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to grant permission to conduct 'Gramiya Koothu' on 05.03.2019 at about 8.00 P.M in the eve of 'Maha Sivarathiri' festival of the 'Sri Angalaparameshwari Kovil' situated in Vellai Pillaiyar Patti Village, Pudukkottai District in pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 27.02.2019.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents.

(3.) The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the Villagers have conducted cultural programme for the Maha Sivarathiri festival every year in the Tamil month of Masi peacefully. As per the tradition and customs, this year also the Villagers have planned to conduct Gramiya Koothu to be held on 05.03.2019 at about 8.00 p.m at the 'Sri Angalaprameshwari Kovil' situated in Vellai Pillaiyar Patti Village, Pudukkottai District. In this regard, the petitioner gave a representation to the respondents on 27.02.2019. Since no action has been taken, the present writ petition has been filed.
