JUDGEMENT

(1.) The order of rejection dated 03.09.2018, rejecting the claim of the writ petitioner for compassionate appointment is under challenge in the present writ petition.

(2.) The learned counsel for the writ petitioner states that the father of the writ petitioner late Sri. Natarajan, was employed as Driver in Land Revenue Assistant Office at Darapuram and died on 24.02.1987, while he was in service. On account of the sudden demise of the Government employee, the family was in penurious circumstances. The petitioner claims that she is a spinster and un-employee, her mother also died subsequently and therefore, submitted an application seeking appointment on compassionate grounds. The application itself was submitted on 20.08.2018. The respondents rejected the application in proceedings dated 03.09.2018, by stating that the writ petitioner has submitted an application seeking compassionate appointment after a lapse of 30 years from the date of death of the deceased employee.

(3.) Thus, the scheme of compassionate appointment cannot be extended in favour of the writ petitioner. As per the terms and conditions of the scheme, an application must be submitted within a period of three years from the date of death of the deceased employee.
