JUDGEMENT

(1.) This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to give the permission and police protection for conducting Sendaimelam Programme in front of the Car Festival on 28.01.2019 and 29.01.2019 for the Arulmigu Sri Muppidathiamman Temple situate at Padaiyatchi Street, Sengottai Taluk, Vadakarai - 627 812, Tirunelveli District, on the basis of the Petitioner's Representation dated 08.01.2019.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the Festival Committee of Arulmighu Sri Muppidathiamman Temple situate at Padaiyatchi Street, Sengottai Taluk, Vadakarai-627 812, Tirunelveli District, have conducted Car Festival every year peacefully. As per the tradition and customs, this year also the Festival Committee have planned to conduct Sendaimelam programme on 28.01.2019 and 29.01.2019. In this regard, the petitioner gave a representation to the respondents on 08.01.2019. Since no action has been taken, the present writ petition has been filed.
