JUDGEMENT

(1.) This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adalpadal scheduled to be held on 20.01.2019 at night 09.00 to 12.00 hours in connection with "Kumbabishekam Festival" in Arulmigu Sri Madhu Adaikalam Katha Amman Temple in Virachilai Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2019.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the Festival Committee of Arulmigu Sri Madhu Adaikalam Katha Amman Temple in Virachilai Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District have conducted dance programmes for the temple festival every year peacefully. As per the tradition and customs, this year also the Festival Committee have planned to conduct dance programme on 20.01.2019. In this regard, the petitioner gave a representation to the respondents on 02.01.2019. Since no action has been taken, the present writ petition has been filed.
