JUDGEMENT

(1.) This writ petition is filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to release the Lorry viz., ASHOK LEYLAND TIPPER LORRY bearing Registration No. TN-48-R-3047 seized by the fourth respondent herein on 19.06.2019 pertaining to the case in Crime No.20 of 2019 on the file of the fourth respondent herein and return the vehicle to the petitioner.

(2.) A Division Bench of this Court has, on 29.10.2018 issued a series of detailed directions to the concerned authorities targeted at containing illegal sand mining as well as measures to address and prevent such acts. The same are extracted hereunder:-

(3.) Till such time the Special Courts were constituted, release of the seized vehicles were being sought before this Court in terms of Article 226 of the Constitution of India and such writ Petitions were being entertained.
