JUDGEMENT

(1.) This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to give police protection to the Temple Festival from 15/5/2019 to 23/5/2019 at Sri Angalaparameswari Amman Kovil, Jakkampalayam, Aandiya Goundanoor Village, Madathukulam Taluk, Thiruppur District, based on the petitioner's representation dtd. 3/5/2019.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though there are two groups in the village, there was a peace committee meeting held in the presence of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Udumalpet, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Udumalpet and the Inspector of Police, Madathukulam and in their presence, the parties have arrived at compromise and have agreed to conduct the temple festival in a peaceful manner. He would further submit that the petition is thereby filed seeking for police protection to regulate the crowd and to conduct the festival without causing disturbance to the general public.
