JUDGEMENT

(1.) The University of Madras-first respondent in W.P. No. 13521 of 1996 is the appellant and aggrieved by the order directing them to promote the respondents 1 to 10, as Assistant Librarians and also granting time for getting necessary qualification, has preferred this writ appeal.

(2.) The facts in brief necessary for the disposal of this writ appeal are as follows: It is the case of the respondents 1 to 10/writ petitioners that they were originally recruited as Library Technical Assistants and in the year 1995, the said post was redesignated as Library Technical Officers and consequently, the petitioners were redesignated to the post of Library Technical Officers.
