V. PONPANDIAN Vs. SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE

JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to give permission and necessary police protection to perform the Aadal Padal Programme on 03.05.2018 at 07.00 p.m., to 11.00 p.m., in connection with the temple festival of Arulmigu Sri Bala Nagammal Thirukovil at Bharatiar Nagar, Kambam, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District, based on the petitioner's representations dated 17.04.2018.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

(3.) Taking into consideration the facts of the present case and the fact that such programmes are being organized and conducted in every village all over the state, this Court is of the view that preventing the petitioner from conducting such programme in this particular village will amount to discrimination.
