JUDGEMENT

(1.) In respect of W.P.No.8700 of 2014, the relief sought for is to direct the respondents to award third incentive increment to the petitioner for acquiring the higher qualification of M.Phil., with effect from 01.03.2008 and confer all consequential benefits.

(2.) W.P.No.8700 of 2014: The facts in nutshell in respect of this writ petition is that the writ petitioner was appointed as B.T.Assistant on 11.04.2001 and he was possessing the higher qualification of M.A., and M.Ed.,. The petitioner admits that he was awarded with two incentive increments for possessing the higher qualification of M.A., and M.Ed.,. Subsequently, he was promoted as P.G.Assistant(English) and during that period, he acquired M.Phil., degree in the year 2008. Thus, the writ petitioner claims that he is entitled for a third incentive increment for possessing M.Phil., degree in the year 2008.

(3.) However, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the writ petitioners raised certain questions in respect of grant of incentive increment for the Teachers, who are working in Education Department. Thus, this Court has to deal with those Government orders and the judgments referred for the purpose of regulating these incentive increments to be granted to the Teachers, who are working in Education Department and acquiring additional qualifications for the purpose of getting these incentive increments.
