JUDGEMENT

(1.) This writ petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adalpadal scheduled to be held on 27.06.2018 at night 09.00 p.m to 01.00 a.m hours in connection with the "Kodai Vizha" in Arulmigu Sri Selliyaramman Kovil at Palvannanathapuram Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tirunelveli District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 18.06.2018.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the devotees are used to celebrate "Kodai Vizha" in the Tamil month of "Aani" and the same is being performed for several decades in a peaceful and amicable manner with the participation of entire public without discrimination of religion, caste or class.
