KARUPPASAMY Vs. THE SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE AND OTHER

JUDGEMENT

(1.) This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to give necessary police protection and permit the petitioner to conduct "Adalum Padalum" Cultural program during Arulmigu Sree Sankareshwari Amman Kovil festival at Veeravanchi Nagar, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi District on 20.07.2018 and consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.06.2018.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

(3.) Though the larger relief is sought for in this writ petition, the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner is now restricting his prayer by stating that it would suffice that if a direction is issued to the respondent only to grant permission to conduct the "Adal Padal" programme.
