JUDGEMENT

(1.) This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to grant permission and provide necessary police protection to conduct the cultural program viz., "Adal Padal" from 07.00 p.m., to 11.00 p.m., on 24.06.2018 in "Arulmigu Sri Angala Parameswari Kanavaikaruppu Temple Thiru Vizha" at Poolankurichi, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 18.06.2018.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

(3.) Though the larger relief is sought for in this writ petition, the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner is now restricting his prayer by stating that it would suffice that if a direction is issued to the respondent only to grant permission to conduct the "Adal Padal" programme.
