JUDGEMENT

(1.) The order of rejection in relation to the claim of the writ petitioner for compassionate appointment is under challenge in this writ petition. Further, a direction is sought for to direct the respondents to provide employment to the writ petitioner on compassionate ground.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the writ petitioner vehemently contended that the writ petitioner was selected and sent for training and therefore, an order of appointment ought to have been issued to the writ petitioner on completion of the training period. Contrarily, the impugned order of rejection was issued vide proceedings, dated 10.03.2010 stating that the sister of the writ petitioner was already appointed as Grade-II Police Constable in Chennai Armed Reserved Police and therefore, the writ petitioner is not entitled for appointment. The father of the writ petitioner Shri.P.Arikrishnaperumal was employed as Head Constable and allowed to retire from service on the ground of medical invalidation. The writ petitioner submitted an application seeking compassionate appointment on the ground that his father was medically invalidated and relieved from service and therefore, appointment on compassionate ground to be provided to him.

(3.) The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the family of the writ petitioner is in penurious circumstances. The father of the writ petitioner on account of his medical invalidated is received a meagre amount of monthly pension and therefore, the writ petitioner is eligible to seek compassionate appointment. The writ petitioner was selected and joined the training course. While undergoing the training, the impugned order was issued stating that the sister of the writ petitioner was already appointed as Grade-II Police Constable in Chennai Armed Reserved Police and therefore, he is not entitled to claim any appointment on compassionate ground.
