JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission to perform the programs such as Adal Padal Programme on 07.05.2018 at night 08.00 pm to 12.00 pm in Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Thirukkovil is situated at Krishnampatti, Karuppapatti Panchayath, Karambakudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District and to provide adequate police protection, based on the petitioner's representation dated 23.04.2018.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

(3.) Taking into consideration the facts of the present case and the fact that such programmes are being organised and conducted in every village all over the state, this Court is of the view that preventing the petitioner from conducting such programme in this particular village will amount to discrimination.
