(1.) The above writ appeal is directed against the order dated 20.02.2002 made in W. P. No.5390 of 2001, ''''Rs. ' in and by which, the learned single, while disposing the writ petition, has directed the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 24.10.2001 for the grant of licence for the period ending 31.12.2002, in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of the order.
(2.) Heard Mr. K. Elango, learned Special Government pleader for the appellant as well as the mr. R. Muthukumarasamy, learned Senior Counsel for the respondent.

It is brought to our notice that based on the decisions of this Court, the learned single Judge, after recording the statement that fresh application has been filed on 24.10.2001 for the period ending 31.12.2002, has directed the appropriate authority to consider and pass orders in accordance with law. It is also brought to our notice that pursuant to the said direction, licence was granted and the same was renewed periodically.3. In such circumstances, we are of the view that no adjudication is required in this writ appeal at this juncture with reference to the relief claimed in the writ petition. However, it is made clear that if there is any violation of the conditions or statutory provisions, the appellants are free to take appropriate action in accordance with law.
