JUDGEMENT

(1.) This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission for conducting cultural programs scheduled on 28/1/2026, between 06:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., in connection with the Jeernotharana Astabanthana Maha Kumbavisegam festival of Arulmigu Sri Selva Vinayagar, Sri Karkuthi Ayyanar, Sri Kaliamman, and Sri Ruthrakaliamman, at Avitanallavijayapuram, Chinnakumulai Village, Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District, based on the representations dtd. 6/12/2025, 5/1/2026, 19/1/2026, and 23/1/2026, within a stipulated time period and in accordance with the law.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) appearing for the respondents.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on both sides, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dtd. 19/1/2026 and grant permission to conduct the cultural programs scheduled on 28/1/2026, with the timing restricted from 06:00 p.m. to 09:00 p.m., in connection with the Jeernotharana Astabanthana Maha Kumbavisegam festival of Arulmigu Sri Selva Vinayagar, Sri Karkuthi Ayyanar, Sri Kaliamman, and Sri Ruthrakaliamman at Avitanallavijayapuram, Chinnakumulai Village, Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District. Furthermore, the petitioner is directed to record the entire event without editing and produce the same before this Court on 30/1/2026.
