JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE petitioner, Bethelehem College of Education, has filed this writ petition seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent/the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, to process their application dated 17. 10. 2005 filed by them by conducting appropriate inspection and grant affiliation to the petitioner institution for the academic year 2005-2006 without insisting NOC from the third respondent.

(2.) EVEN at the outset, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that subsequent to the filing of the writ petition, the third respondent has granted 'no Objection Certificate' to the petitioner. Hence no further direction is required in respect of the later part of the relief prayed for.

(3.) REGARDING the first limb of the prayer, we are of the view that ends of justice would be met by directing the first respondent-University to inspect the petitioner-Institution and pass appropriate order on the application dated 17. 10. 2005, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. WPMP No. 6822 of 2006 is closed.
