JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioner, who is the sister of the life convict Dinakaran (Convict No.6393), S/o.Mohan Raj, aged about 42 years, has filed this petition seeking ordinary leave for 30 days without escort to the life convict.

(2.) The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is getting married on 31/10/2025. According to the petitioner, the life convict is serving sentence for more than 9 years. And the life convict was granted ordinary leave by this Court on 23/7/2024 in W.P.No.17244 of 2024 between 30/7/2024 and 28/8/2024 and for this year, he is entitled to 28 days ordinary leave as per Rule 22 of the Tamil Nadu Suspension of Sentence Rules, 1982.

(3.) The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has filed the Probation Officer report from which it seen that the petitioner's marriage is scheduled to be held on 31/10/2025 and on the previous occasions also, the life convict was granted leave without escort and the life convict surrendered without any untoward incident.
