(1.) These Revisions are preferred by the Accused/Revision Petitioner challenging the Judgments in C.A. No.168 of 2017 & C.A. No.231 of 2017, both dtd. 7/9/2018 on the file of XVII Additional Sessions Court, Chennai. The Appeals before the Sessions Court arose out of the Judgment in C.C. No.1873 of 2012, dtd. 22/6/2017, by which the Trial Court had convicted the Revision Petitioner herein, for offences, which are alleged to involve sexual assault by the father on his 14 year old daughter.
(2.) The case of the Prosecution begins with the introduction of few characters, all of whom are relations as between them. PW1 is the wife of the Accused. PW2 is their only daughter, who was the Victim of the crime attributed to the Accused. She was 14 years at the relevant time. PW3 is the brother of PW1 (brother-in-law of the Accused) and PW4 & PW10 are parents of PW1. Besides PW2, the couple had a son, who at the relevant time when the crime was alleged to have taken place was about 16 years old. He was not examined.

As outlined earlier, the Trial Court would now frame charges against the Accused for offences under Sec. 354, IPC and Sec. 506, Part II of IPC as well as under Sec. 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 1998 and proceeded to try the Accused for the charges so framed. During trial, the prosecution examined PW1 to PW11 and marked Ext.P1 to P4. For the defence, the Accused examined DW1 to DW4 and also had examined himself as DW5, and he had also filed Ext.D1 and Ext.D2. Approach of the Trial Court:
