JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE petitioner joined the services of the respondents as Grade II Police Constable. Thereafter, he was promoted as Grade I Police Constable in the year 1995. It is the case of the petitioner that he should have been promoted as Special Sub Inspector of Police on completion of 25 years of service as per G.O.Ms.No. 15, Home (Police IV) Department dated 7.1.2010.

(2.) THE learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that while considering the very same issue, this Court in W.P. No. 30595 of 2014 dated 24.11.2014 (C.Dawood Khan v. Director General of Police, Chennai) was pleased to direct the respondents to pass appropriate orders on merits.

(3.) WITH the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
