JUDGEMENT

(1.) THIS writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting 'Cock Fight' at Pattukottai near Pattukottai Polytechnic College on 22nd and 23 February 2014.

(2.) HEARD Mr. W. Peter Ramesh Kumar, learned Counsel appearing for Mr. A. Arunprasad, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr. B. Pugalendhi, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 and Mr. K.K. Senthilvelan, learned Assistant Solicitor General of India, who takes notice for the fifth respondent. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

(3.) IT is contended that in a number of similar matters, this Court has directed the authorities to grant permission to conduct cock -fight, imposing certain conditions.
