C. MUTHUPANDIAN Vs. SECRETARY TO GOVERNMENT

JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition challenging a show cause notice dated 4.1.2014 issued by the second respondent seeking to reject the application of the petitioner for the grant of a public resort licence.

(2.) Heard Mr.G.Rajagopalan, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

(3.) The petitioner is the owner of a hotel by name Platinum Stars. It was originally located at No.137, Prakasam Salai, Broadway, Chennai-108. The previous owner of the hotel had a public resort licence to conduct cultural dance programmes every evening in the hotel, till the year 2004-05. But, the said licence was not renewed thereafter.
