Decided On January 11, 2013
Al. Alagiyameyyan Ambalam Appellant
V/S
District Collector, Sivagangai Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) SINCE , the issues involved in all the above writ petitions are similar in nature, they are taken up together for final disposal.

(2.) EVEN though the petitioner has prayed for larger reliefs in the above writ petitions, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners had submitted that it would suffice if the District Collector, Sivagangai District, Sivagangai, is directed to consider the representations of the petitioners, dated 07.01.2013, relating to the conducting of "Mattu Pongal" festival, on 15.01.2013.

(3.) IN view of the said submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, this Court is of the considered view that, no further orders are necessary in the present writ petitions. Hence, the writ petitions stand closed. However, it is made clear that the petitioners cannot conduct "Manjuvirattu" events in the places mentioned in the representations concerned, as such areas are not notified by the Government of Tamil Nadu, for conducting such events. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed. No costs.
