RAJAPANDI Vs. COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

Decided On January 09, 2013
RAJAPANDI Appellant
V/S
COMMISSIONER OF POLICE Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) THIS Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to direct the respondents to produce the detenue, namely, Jothimani, aged about 23 years, the wife of the petitioner, before this Court and to set her at liberty.

(2.) THE petitioner has stated that the detenue, namely, Jothimani, had been missing from 20.11.2012. Therefore, he had lodged a complaint before the second respondent, on 20.11.2012. The said complaint had been registered by the second respondent, in Crime No.973 of 2012, as a "woman missing " case. Since, no effective steps had been taken by the second respondent to trace out the detenue, the petitioner has preferred the present Habeas Corpus Petition before this Court.

(3.) IN view of the said statement made in the Status Report filed on behalf of the second respondent, this Court is of the view that no further orders are necessary in the present Habeas Corpus Petition. Hence, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
