JUDGEMENT

(1.) This writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and give police protection to conduct "Adal Padal" dance program at about 07.00 p.m on 18/7/2022 in pursuance to the festival of "Arulmighu Sri Mahamariamman Thirukovil", situated at Velakkanantham Village, Musiri Taluk, Trichy District, on considering the petitioner's representation, dtd. 13/7/2022.

(2.) The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that a Festival for the temple, by name, Arulmighu Sri Mahamariamman Thirukovil at Velakkanantham Village, Musiri Taluk, Trichy District, is going to be held from 17/7/2022 to 19/7/2022. Subsequent to the same, in order to conduct a cultural programme on 18/7/2022, they sought permission of the police by giving a representation dtd. 13/7/2022. But, the respondents have not considered the said representation. Since no order was passed, the petitioner has come before this Court for the above said relief.
