M. JAGANATHAN Vs. DISTRICT COLLECTOR

Decided On March 30, 2021
M. JAGANATHAN Appellant
V/S
DISTRICT COLLECTOR Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) Certain allegations were carried by the appellant by way of a writ petition complaining of the appellant being vilified on the ground of caste.

(2.) The Writ Court has appropriately recorded that it was difficult to appreciate how, on the basis of the self-serving averments of the petitioner, a direction to initiate an inquiry against the respondents could be issued. There is a procedure which is recognised and established by law which the petitioner needs to avail of, if the petitioner has a genuine grievance. The Writ Court may not be disturbed for such purpose.

(3.) There is no merit in the appeal and the writ petition has been appropriately dismissed. It appears that the writ petitioner may have been spared the costs because of the writ petitioner's scheduled caste background.
