JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioners, five in number, have sought a Mandamus directing the first respondent ie., the Director of Sericulture, to consider their representations of varied dates and to promote them to the post of Assistant Inspectors of Sericulture, in available vacancies.

(2.) In the common counter filed, the respondents have stated that the representations of the petitioners contain incorrect details. Notwithstanding this, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, would submit that proper procedure will be followed for filling up the vacancies as and when they are notified, by persons suitable and qualified for the posts and following the procedures set out under applicable Rules and Regulations. This is recorded.

(3.) Incidentally, the second petitioner has already been promoted to the post of Assistant Inspector, pending writ petition and the fifth petitioner is said to fall presently, within the zone of consideration for promotion.
