Being aggrieved by the liability fastened on the Insurance Company to pay compensation to the Legal Representatives of the deceased and another injured person, in an accident, which occurred on 14.01.2007, the Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd., has preferred the present appeals. Quantum of compensation has also been challenged.

(3.) Legal representatives/parents of the deceased filed M.C.O. P. No. 68 of 2007, on the file of the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal , Gudiyattam, contending inter alia that the deceased, M. Balamurugan, was a mason and earned Rs. 8,000/- per month. They claimed a compensation of Rs. 10,00,000/- under various heads. The cyclist filed M.C. O. P. No. 71 of 2007, before the same Tribunal. According to him, at the time of accident , he was engaged as a weaver and earned Rs. 6,000/- per month. For the injuries, he claimed compensation of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
