JUDGEMENT

(1.) RULE returnable today. Learned advocate Mr. Mehta appears for and waives service of notice of rule on behalf of the respondent.

(2.) THE petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent Union Public Service Commission (hereinafter referred to as "the Commission") to rectify its selection procedure for promotion to the Indian Forest Service held in the year 2004.

(3.) IT appears that pursuant to the selection in the year 2004, by Notifications issued on 5th November, 2004 and 18th May, 2006, some Forest Officers in the State of Gujarat have been promoted to the cadre of Indian Forest Service. The petitioner has challenged the said Notifications in Special Civil Application No. 6730/2008 that is pending admission hearing before the learned Single Judge.
