PATEL NIDHIBEN RAMESHBHAI Vs. STATE OF GUJARAT

JUDGEMENT

(1.) By way of present petition, the petitioner herein has prayed for direction qua respondent No.2 to amend and/ or correct the name of the name of the petitioner as "Nidhiben Rameshbhai Ambalal Patel" instead of Ashaben Rameshbhai Ambalal Patel in the Birth Certificate of the petitioner, as per the School Leaving Certificate of the petitioner.

(2.) Heard Ms. Kusum Patel, the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner. Though served, none appeared for respondent No.2.

It is the case of the petitioner herein that the petitioner was born on 5/9/2000 at Balol, District: Mehsana and the birth was registered in the Register under the Registration of Birth and Death Act, 1969 at respondent No.2. Ms. Patel, the learned advocate submitted that at the time of registration of birth of the present petitioner, the name of the present petitioner was wrongly entered in the Birth Registered of the respondent No.2 Gram Panchayat and the birth certificate issued by respondent No.2 Gram Panchayat is showing the name of the petitioner as Ashaben Rameshbhai Ambalal Patel instead of "Nidhiben Rameshbhai Ambalal Patel".
