JUDGEMENT

(1.) Both the appeal and the Special Civil Application No. 10074 of 2001 are taken up for final hearing at the instance of the learned counsel appearing for both the sides.

(2.) The appellant's grievance is that though he possesses requisite qualification for admission to the P.T.C. Course., the respondent - Director of Primary Education is not taking any decision on the application of the appellant for admission to the said Course,. The appellant had passed the 12th standard examination in vocational stream in the year 2001 and on that basis, he has made an application for admission to the P.T.C. Course. No decision has been taken so far by the Director on the question as to whether the appellant should be admitted to the P.T.C Course. The decision on the question of admission to the said Course is required tc be taken on the basis of the relevant Rules & Regulations applicable thereto anc keeping in view the qualifications of the applicant. It is not necessary for the Director to consult any outside agency in the matter.

(3.) The learned Assistant Government Pleader, on instructions from the concerned officer, states that a decision will be taken on the application of the appellant for admission to the P.T.C. Course in accordance with law, keeping in view the qualifications of the appellant. We accordingly direct that the respondent Director of Primary Education shall consider the appellant's application to the P.T.C. Course in accordance with the relevant Rules & Regulations and his qualifications and take a decision in the matter within two weeks from today in accordance with law. The Letters Patent Appeal and the Special Civil Application No- 10074 of 2001 stand disposed of accordingly- There shall be no order as to costs. Direct service is permitted. L.P.A. disposed off.
