(1.) Since common questions arise in both these appeals, we are disposing of the same by this common judgment.
(2.) Appellants are the writ petitioners. Appellant in Special Appeal No. 781 of 2017 claims to be an Asami and the appellant in Special Appeal No. 783 of 2017 claims to be a Government lessee. They moved applications before the District Magistrate seeking shelter under the Government Orders, in which they claim Bhumidhari rights with transferable rights over their respective piece of land. The District Magistrate, by the impugned order in the writ petition, took the view that the time had run out in terms of the Government Order by 22.07.2017 in Special Appeal No. 781 of 2017 and by 18.07.2017 in Special Appeal No. 783 of 2017. When the matter came up before the learned Single Judge, the learned Single Judge before calling for any counter affidavit(s) took note of the fact that Power of Attorney has been executed by the appellants in favour of the Power of Attorney holder.
(3.) Feeling aggrieved, the appellants/writ petitioners are before us.
