SAMEER Vs. STATE OF UTTARAKHAND

JUDGEMENT

(1.) Applicant ' accused Sameer Alias Chand is in judicial custody in connection with the First Information Report No.313 of 2020, registered at Police Station Khatima, District Udham Singh Nagar for the offence under Sec. 8/20/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

(2.) Heard Mr. Vikas Anand, learned counsel for the applicant and Mr. S.T. Bharadwaj, learned Deputy Advocate General for the State on the Short Term Bail Application (IA No.03 of 2023).

(3.) Mr. Vikas Anand, Advocate, submitted that the medical condition of the father of the applicant is very critical and alarming. He is suffering from serious Grade 3 osteoarthritis and has unbearable pain in both the knees and lower back of the body. He requires an immediate surgery. He has been referred to AIIMS, Rishikesh, however, he is bed ridden and the mother of the applicant is incapable to take him to AIIMS, Rishikesh.
