JUDGEMENT

(1.) This application is filed under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

(2.) The applicant is a history sheeter with not less than 17 crimes to his credit. Some of the crimes are ones registered for violating the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985. He was found proceeding on a scooter by the Inspector of Police, Ottapalam, on 23.10.2017 at about 4.15 p.m. A fairly large plastic bag was found tied to the platform of the scooter. He was intercepted and a search was conducted after complying with all statutory formalities. The bag was found to contain 20.190 kgs of dry Ganja. He was arrested then and there and the contraband was seized.

(3.) The learned counsel appearing for the applicant submitted that the applicant was arrested on 210.2017. Investigation has been completed and final report has been laid before the jurisdictional court. It is prayed that he be released on bail taking note of the long period of incarceration undergone by him.
