(1.) These bunch of writ petitions are filed by a party-in-person for compensation from the police officers and the State on the ground of police atrocities and harassment. Since same point is to be considered in all these writ petitions, this court proposes to dispose of these writ petitions by a common judgment.
(2.) The writ petitions do not have clarity with the pleadings and reliefs. Multiple writ petitions have been filed seeking compensation against the same officers and the State. This court provided assistance to the petitioner through a legal aid cell. However, this court is of the view that the writ petitions shall not be dismissed on the ground of technicality if the petitioner made out a case for award of compensation.
(3.) The first among the case is W.P.(C).No.25276/2016. This was filed against the State and the police officers, namely, Saju Antony, P.Pramod, C.Rajan and Binesh Kumar. The next writ petition, W.P. (C).No.25277/2016 is filed against the State and police officers, namely, Appunni, Vishnu, Ramesh Babu and Sreekumar. The third writ petition, W.P.(C).No.25278/2016 is filed against the State and police officers, Kishore Kumar, Santhosh Kumar and C.Rajan. The fourth writ petition, W.P.(C).No.25279/2016 is filed against the State and police officers, Saju Antony, C.Rajan and P.Pramod. The last of the writ petition is W.P.(C).No.35335/2016. This writ petition is filed against the State and police officers, Saju Antony, P.Pramod, C.Rajan and Binesh Kumar. As already noted, all these writ petitions were filed for compensation.
