JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE petitioners who claim to be members of the first respondent, sabha, which is a charitable society, seeks police protection on the ground that a law and order situation is bound to take place on 20/05/2007, on which date the annual general meeting of the sapha is scheduled to be held.

(2.) IN case there is any law and order situation or a breach of public peace in connection with the aforementioned annual general meeting, we are sure that the police will take necessary action irrespective of the person who lodges a complaint. It goes without saying that the police will not remain inert in a situation warranting prompt action and ensure that no breach of public peace, if any, takes place in connection with the said meeting. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
