P.M. MANSOOR Vs. STATE OF KERALA

JUDGEMENT

(1.) PRINCIPLES of selection for admission to the post graduate course in General Medicine in the Medical Colleges in this State for the year 1985 -86 are challenged in these two writ petitions.

(2.) TWO doctors.Dr.P.M.Mansoor and Dr.K.Shyam,sat for an entrance examination conducted by the Kerala Government and have,at present,to be content with the 6th and 7th places in the wait list,with no prospect of securing admission to the M.D.course in General Medicine.

(3.) AN entrance examination is conducted for regulating admission to the open general merit and for selection of the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates.Seniority is the basis for selection of the Assistant Surgeons,Civil Surgeons etc .,who form one category in the Health Services Department and also for Tutors,who forms another independent category.in the Medical Colleges,under the Government.
