(1.) In the Prospectus for direct admission to the First Year M. B. B. S. Course in Government Medical Colleges for 1966-67, it is stated that:
(2.) The main submission on behalf of the petitioners was that they were not selected for. admission to the first Year M. B. B. S. Course because other candidates who are not eligible for admission have been selected and admitted to the available seats and consequently the petitioners were denied admission. The petitioners contend that respondents have selected candidates who have offered Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects under Part IV of the B. Sc. course (3 years' course) examination and that such candidates are not eligible for admission to the Medical Colleges.
(3.) Clause (1) of Chap.41 of the Ordinance issued by the Kerala University under S.26 of the Kerala University Act. 1957 (Act, 14 of 1957), and published in the Kerala Gazette No. 39, Part III dated 6 10 1964 reads:
